Light
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:3
Until there was Light, there was nothing. That is God's word. One commentator suggested a more progressive sense of Gen. 1:1. Sort of like when God began to create the heavens and the earth . . . I don't see any other translation that is in past progressive, though. In any case, since there was not yet any light, there could be no substantiated proof that anything was created.
Does it matter how old the earth is? If counted from Adam, 6000 or so years. If counted from Genesis 1:1 the age could be indeterminate. But my spirit is drawn to the Light. God is Light, and in Him is no darkness. We would do well to remember this.
