Popularity Contest

 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judea . . . Mk 3:7

I suppose one of the most striking ways Jesus stands out is that He is not impressed at all by what men say. He heals someone, and tells them not to talk about it. He feeds 5000, a simple act of compassion, then runs away from the crowd wanting to make him King. His Kingdom, though, is not of this world. 

For those of us who know Him, and have tied ourselves to Him, our focus is not on the external realm, but on the inner path. He has the words of Eternal Life. Ours is not to boast. Jesus did not even allow the demons to speak after He cast them out. So do we quietly work. His Presence is our light.
